I will overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to publicize next month's bout.

Ex twice world heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically known for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's biggest financial successes, regularly earning huge paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Size Disparity

As both boxers participated in the usual face-off, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how surprising this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
