Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been earned on hard surfaces
A resurgent Medvedev secured his maiden championship for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has had a torrid period, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the American major.
The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in specific - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and finally separating with long-term mentor Cervara.
Currently training with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.
It is Medvedev's initial championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt from March of 2023.
The win also indicates the Russian has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one distinct competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to secure a title is really nice," commented world number 14 Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my child her name was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six finals, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.
The player's defensive approach and recurring reactions on the playing surface had prompted commentators to doubt if his capacity to play at the highest level was concluded.
But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and perform aggressively, backed up by an better service.
Medvedev fought back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Moutet, securing 4 of the last five games to take the lead.
The competitors traded break points in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden professional victory, gained dominance to force a decider.
Moutet rescued four early opportunities in a close final set before the champion broke to that score to secure the win.
Suitably, the winner clinched victory with a rally at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to control a return after a lengthy match.
